Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a capable Surgical Tech/Unit Assistant to support the Labor & Delivery team. The role includes scrub duties in the L&D OR and unit responsibilities, with emphasis on patient safety and accurate case setup.

You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and interact with nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff to ensure efficient patient care and department operations.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Tech preferred; RN direction implied.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred nursing assistant course or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in Labor and Delivery OR; assists in case setup.
• Sets up cases with instrumentation and supplies; maintains aseptic technique.
• Anticipates surgeon's needs and assists RN circulator.
• Maintains proper room turnover and cleans after cases.
