Qualifications

• Certification in surgical technology
• High school graduate or certified equivalent; Graduate of a formal surgical technology program.
• New graduate of surgical technologist program or experienced surgical technologist

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and prepares cases with proper instrumentation and supplies.
• Maintains organized sterile field and ensures correct counts with RN circulator.
• Monitors room equipment, temperature, and humidity; reports issues to the nurse supervisor.
• Maintains patient body alignment during intra-operative phase and adheres to infection control practices.
• Prepares specimens accurately and communicates with the registered nurse.
