Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for a Per Diem schedule. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to our diverse patient population.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, intervening, evaluating, educating patients, communicating with the care team, and updating medical records, with emphasis on patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• MA RN license is required in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Diploma, ASN or BSN nursing degree; BSN preferred with ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required
• AWHONN EFM Intermediate or Advanced certification preferred
• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data
• Follow BMCHS nursing guidelines and participate in quality improvement projects
