Job summary

BMCHS is seeking Registered Nurses for Labor and Delivery on a per diem schedule. The role requires a nursing degree (Diploma/ASN/BSN preferred) with ability to obtain BSN within four years and MA RN licensure.

Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM (Intermediate/Advanced) are required, with at least two years of L&D experience. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM (Intermediate/Advance)
• 2 years' experience in Labor and Delivery; EHR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation and patient education.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records; interpret computerized data.
• Follow BMCHS nursing guidelines and participate in quality improvement projects.

Position: Registered Nurse
Location: Labor & Delivery
Schedule : Per Diem

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support(ACLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
• Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification

EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years' experience Labor and Delivery
• Experience with electronic health record preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

Compensation Range:

$39.80- $93.69

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
