Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery for a per diem Day shift. The role requires strong clinical judgment, compassionate patient care, and collaboration with a maternity team.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and support families through the birth process while maintaining safety and quality care. Active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, ADN required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP certifications required.
• 3–5 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• ADN required; BSN strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families and ensure informed consent and understanding.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and drive coordinated care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and ongoing professional growth.
