Job summary

St. Tammany Health System’s Registered Nurse in Labor, Antenatal and Postpartum (couplet) coordinates clinical activities and oversees nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns. The role follows the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies, guiding care planning, implementation and evaluation.

Based in Covington, this role offers a community‑oriented environment with diverse shifts supporting family‑centered maternity services in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Board Certified Registered Nursing Program.
• One year labor experience required.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• BLS required on hire; ALS and NRP preferred within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Laboring, Antenatal and Post-Partum (couplet) patients.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Comply with State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies; support department and hospital goals.
