Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate Laboring, Antenatal and Post-Partum care. You will apply the nursing process, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, and supervise LPNs, unit assistants and CNAs.

The role requires RN licensure in Louisiana, BLS, and labor/delivery experience; ALS/NRP preferred and completed within 3 months. The position offers a 36-hour weekly schedule and a community-focused work environment on the north shore of Lake

Qualifications

• Completed Board Certified Registered Nursing Program.
• One year labor experience required.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• BLS required on hire.
• ALS and NRP preferred on hire, required within 3 months of hire.
• Certifications may be through ILCOR courses (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, American Red Cross).
• ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of hire, renewed every two years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Laboring, Antenatal and Post-Partum (couplet) patient using the nursing process.
• Supervise LPNs, Unit Assistants and CNAs.
• Follow State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.
• Support the goals and objectives of the department and the hospital.
