Job summary
Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery registered nurse to provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns through labor, birth, recovery, and postpartum stages.
You will work with an interdisciplinary team to monitor maternal and fetal well‑being, interpret fetal monitoring, and support both vaginal and cesarean deliveries in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, education, and safe practices.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
- Current RN License (Missouri or compact state).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women’s Services, or LDRP experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
- Assess, monitor, and respond to maternal and fetal conditions.
- Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers.
- Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.
- Assist with neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
- Partner with patients and families in decision‑making and education.
