Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Staff Nurse Inpatient is a critical role focused on delivering high-quality nursing care to acutely ill inpatients. The nurse collaborates with the care team and families to create, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans within ANA standards and organizational policies.

The position requires a BSN and current Illinois RN license, BLS certification, and strong communication and analytic skills. Additional ED/trauma preferences may be considered based on unit needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan and coordinates care.
• Directs care and utilizes assistants appropriately.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plan and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates care plan accordingly.
• Applies evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
