Job summary

Desert Care Network in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery on a per diem basis. The Clinical Nurse will provide comprehensive obstetric and newborn care, with emphasis on teaching, discharge planning, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse License.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required; OB ACLS preferred.
• NRP certification within six months of start date.
• EKG certification required.
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring credentials required within six months.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and IVs; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning.
• Maintain age-appropriate care for obstetric patients and newborns.
• Act as charge nurse as assigned and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with policies and documentation.
