Job summary

Desert Care Network, serving the Hi-Desert Medical Center in California, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem day shift (7:00am–7:30pm) with some weekends and holidays. The role provides comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualified candidates hold a CA RN license and CPR certification; ACLS and PALS within one year of hire are required. Per diem hours offer flexibility and competitive hourly wages in the California market.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license.
• Current CPR Certification.
• ACLS within one year of hire.
• PALS within one year of hire.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation course or demonstrated competency within one year of hire.
• 1 year Acute Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of the nursing process and uses it in assessment of path physiology disease.
• Develop a plan of care based on assessments with appropriate interventions.
• Organize patient care responsibilities with assignment of ancillary staff based on skills and experience.
• Provides patient education based on disease and discharge planning needs.
• Administers medications safely.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and provides information for informed consent.
• Observes patient rights, confidentiality and reports elder abuse if indicated.
• Completes documentation for chart documents and incidents.
• Maintains currency in nursing practice by attending seminars and journals.
• Assists in planning, supervising and instructing LVNs, CNAs and students.
• Supervises and evaluates RN, LVN and Patient Care Technicians.
• Recognizes and responds to cardiac arrhythmias on monitor/strip.
