Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery in Palm Springs. The role requires CA RN license, BLS, NRP, ACLS (OB ACLS preferred) and obstetric fetal monitoring credentials. You will care for antepartum through postpartum patients, participate in trauma and cesarean procedures, and educate families.

One year of Labor & Delivery experience is required. Per Diem, day shifts, with opportunities for leadership and collaboration within the Desert Care Network.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification (OB ACLS preferred) within six months of start date.
• NRP certification within six months of start date.
• EKG certification required.
• Interim/Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and well newborn patients.
• Perform circulating and recovery duties for cesarean sections.
• Initiate interdisciplinary communications and incorporate recommendations.
• Act as liaison between patient, physicians and families."
• Develop and update individualized discharge and teaching plans.
• Discharge planning and patient education throughout hospitalization.
• Administer medications per policy, including IVs and blood products.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations; monitor tests and vitals.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned and support other staff as needed.
• Ensure policy compliance and escalate issues per chain of command.

American Heart Association BLS

American Heart Association ACLS (OB ACLS preferred)

American Heart Association NRP

EKG certification

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification (Intermediate)
