Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor and Delivery Department in Maryland. The role focuses on educating patients and families, modeling professional care, and using electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of RN experience, an active Maryland nursing license, and current BLS certification; NRP is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Maryland nursing license active.
• AHA BLS certification.
• NRP required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care and pursue ongoing knowledge with guidance from senior nurses.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards while upholding Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based changes.
