Responsibilities

• Identify and correct variances from the patient’s care plan.
• Complete discharge planning.
• Report directly to the Charge Nurse.

Description

As a Labor & Delivery RN, you will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Nursing Managers, and Chief Nursing Officer to deliver comprehensive patient care. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting initial and ongoing assessments.
• Developing patient care plans using the Care Plan (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) framework.
• Directing and delivering patient care, while providing patient and family education.
• Identifying and correcting variances from the patient’s plan of care.
• Completing discharge planning.
• Reporting directly to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited nursing training program as Registered Nurse.
• Experience: 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum experience.
• Specific Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, basic nursing skills, and willingness to float to Med Surg during low census (6 months acute care experience preferred).
• Computer Skills: Moderate computer proficiency.
• Licenses: Arizona State Nursing License or compact state licensure.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & NRP required; PALS preferred.
