Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor-Delivery-Postpartum to join our Nights team. The RN provides evidence-based nursing care, collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and supports families through the perioperative period.

This role requires a BSN, IL RN license, and CPR/BLS certification; ADN pathway is acceptable with commitment to complete BSN within three years. We offer comprehensive benefits and career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment for each patient reflecting age-specific variables.
• Identifies educational needs, abilities, learning preferences, and readiness to learn.
• Anticipates potential problems and discharge needs.
• Develops and updates nursing plan of care with input from the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinates effective communication with physicians and other providers.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and intervenes as needed.
• Prioritizes care needs and readjusts priorities as status changes.
• Documents treatments and patient response accurately; participates in discharge planning.
