Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Surgical Technologist/OB Technician to assist in labor, delivery and recovery. You will scrub, prepare rooms, and support the operating room team during obstetric procedures, ensuring sterile technique and timely availability of instruments.

Responsibilities include patient care before and after surgery, helping with deliveries, and collaborating with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of patient rooms, opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures using aseptic technique.
• Supports the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments.
• Assists nursing staff in deliveries, including preparation, positioning, transports, discharge.
• Collects UA specimens and records maternal vitals, weight, height and I&O.
• Prepares, positions, transports and discharges patients.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
