Job summary

Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time Labor and Delivery leadership role. The position oversees daily unit operations, staffing, and patient flow, driving quality care and safety across shifts.

Responsibilities include recruiting and developing nursing staff, delegating assignments, and partnering with leadership to align processes. A minimum of 1 year of experience, BLS, and an RN license (KS) are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from Kansas Board of Nursing before hire date.
• 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily unit operations and assess patient access needs to ensure safe, seamless and high-quality care.
• Recruit, onboard, train and perform evaluations of nursing staff.
• Delegate clinical assignments based on staff skills to optimize care delivery.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and conduct clinical audits to elevate unit standards and patient safety outcomes.
• Partner with department leadership to align and enforce operational processes across all shifts.
