Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center is seeking a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join the Labor and Delivery team on a PRN basis. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist with obstetric procedures, and support the team to deliver safe, compassionate care.

On-call shifts provide predictable scheduling and mentorship opportunities. You will work closely with surgeons and nursing staff in a high-acuity maternity environment, with access to training, growth pathways, and a Magnet-recognized

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or related degree or equivalent work experience accepted
• One year CST experience in Labor and Delivery required

Responsibilities

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience
