Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery registered nurse to join our Labor & Birth team.

You’ll provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, collaborating with OB physicians, midwives, neonatal staff, and support teams to ensure safe, compassionate birth experiences. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient and family education, and mentoring new nurses as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License (Missouri or compact state).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women’s Services, or LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to maternal and fetal conditions.
• Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers.
• Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.
• Assist with neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
