Job summary

Illapa Search Ltd. is seeking a Mid-Level Labor & Employment Associate in Indianapolis to counsel sophisticated employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters, from day-to-day issues to high-stakes disputes.

The role offers exposure to employment counseling, wage and hour matters, restrictive covenants, workplace policies, discipline and termination, reductions in force, workplace investigations, and employment litigation. 3-6 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of labor and employment experience at a respected law firm or comparable practice.
• Experience advising employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters.
• Strong experience with employment counseling, including workplace policies, employee relations, disciplinary matters, terminations, accommodations, and compliance issues.
• Experience handling or supporting employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and related state laws.
• Experience with wage and hour matters, restrictive covenants, employment agreements, workplace investigations, or reductions in force is highly desirable.
• Labor relations or traditional labor experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy and communicate effectively with sophisticated business clients.
