RN.com is seeking a Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN to care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring both the mother and baby. This role includes coaching mothers, assisting doctors, and preparing families for childbirth stages. L&D RNs will also handle complications during pregnancies and assist in cesarean deliveries across various settings including hospitals and clinics.
The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), pass the NCLEX, and have an active state license.
LD RN’s care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers and assisting doctors. They prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born. In addition to assisting women throughout labor and the birthing process, LD RN' s care for women who experience complications with their pregnancies and assist surgeons during cesarean deliveries. LD RN’s can work in a variety of settings such as hospital delivery rooms, physician’s offices, birthing centers, and community clinics. L&D RN’s may be asked to float to Postpartum or Mother Baby due to census.
