Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide specialized care for women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, assist with deliveries, and support safe outcomes for mothers and newborns.

The role requires current RN licensure, a nursing degree, and obstetric/BLS certifications. Strong assessment, decision-making, communication, and teamwork are essential to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, assist with deliveries, and support safe outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, vital signs, and other clinical indicators.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments.
• Assist physicians and providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide pre-delivery, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum nursing care.
• Recognize and respond to changes or complications in maternal or fetal condition.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Assist with newborn care and initial assessments as directed.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and obstetric care standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Previous Labor and Delivery, obstetric, or maternal-child nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• BLS and appropriate obstetric certifications as required.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
