Job summary

RN.com is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN in Baldwin Park, CA to support mothers during labor, monitor baby and mother, and assist physicians during delivery. The role includes coaching families and facilitating breastfeeding after birth.

Candidates must hold an active California RN license and have relevant obstetric experience. The position may require floating to related units as census dictates, and involves working in hospital delivery rooms or clinics with a flexible shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Must have an active California RN license (NCLEX passed).
• 2+ years of experience in Circulator, Antepartum, Postpartum and L&D.
• NRP and AWHONN are often required.
• Block bookings may be 1–3 weeks in advance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor mother and baby during labor and delivery.
• Provide coaching to mothers and families.
• Assist physicians during cesarean deliveries and other procedures.
• Float to Postpartum or Mother Baby as census requires.

Job description

LD RN’s care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers and assisting doctors. They prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born. In addition to assisting women throughout labor and the birthing process, LD RN' s care for women who experience complications with their pregnancies and assist surgeons during cesarean deliveries. LD RN’s can work in a variety of settings such as hospital delivery rooms, physician’s offices, birthing centers, and community clinics. L&D RN’s may be asked to float to Postpartum or Mother Baby due to census.

Education/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
• You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
• RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
• NRP and AWHONN are often required

***Must have at least 2 years experience in Circulator, Antepartum, Post partum and LD. CLN should be available to work 1-2 shifts per week. Block booking will be available up to 3 weeks in advance.
