Labor and Delivery Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with management, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models the organization’s values to support excellent patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes for efficient throughput and quality care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a supportive environment.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
• Implement nursing strategies to improve staff engagement, including rounding and other initiatives.
• Contribute to staff hiring, training, and performance management.
• Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor needs according to patient care demands.
• Support inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree.
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year.
• Leadership experience in Women’s, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby units preferred.

The CNC will serve as Charge and Assistant Nurse Manager, overnight shift, capable of delivering babies and assisting in OR as needed. Must be comfortable being the go-to person for staffing needs.
