Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and oversees all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with management, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care according to established policies and serves as a resource for staff, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support excellent patient outcomes and departmental performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and quality care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Support a patient-first approach and engage in service recovery when needed.
• Implement nursing strategies to improve staff engagement, including rounding and other initiatives.
• Contribute to staff hiring, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
• Assist with staff scheduling, managing labor costs, and ensuring adequate coverage.
• Support inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree.
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment.
• Leadership experience in Women's, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby units is required.

The CNC will serve as Charge and Assistant Nurse Manager, working overnight shifts, and must be comfortable handling deliveries, scrubbing in the OR, and managing staffing needs.
