Job Title: Lab Technologist Reporting To: Supervisor Sr., Matl Science Work Schedule: Onsite – Blacksburg, VA

To be considered for a Lab Technologist role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• Associate degree in related field or equivalent
• Minimum of two years laboratory experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

As a Lab Technologist, you will:

• Perform a wide variety of tests and analyses for investigation and evaluation of materials, processes, products, or failures basic to Moog Inc. product reliability.
• Maintain laboratory notebook documenting all experiments or technical activities along with maintaining online records.
• Accurately interpret analytical results.
• Develop and document new analytical results procedures.
• Successfully perform analyses from established and new procedures using each of the following: Metallography Polishing equipment Microphotography Balances Wet chemical apparatus Microhardness tester Universal testing machine Electrical test equipment Precision measuring equipment Gas chromatograph Scanning electron microscope Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer FTIR spectrometer Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) Humidity Testing Assist in training / cross‑training of others. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process. Work with minimal supervision. Ability to retain confidential information. Perform other duties as assigned.
