AdventHealth in Sebring, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Phlebotomy role to support specimen collection, processing and QA in a patient-centered lab setting.

Responsibilities include performing cytopreparatory tasks, handling specimens, ensuring safety protocols, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives. Strong communication, basic computer skills, and adherence to infection control are essential.

Formación

• High School Grad or Equivalent required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Technical or vocational training aligned with lab support roles.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.

Responsabilidades

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures and inoculate petri dishes for bacterial growth.
• May clean and disinfect laboratory equipment and spaces, maintaining inventory control.
• Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities.
• Provides resolution to customer service issues; supports education to clinical staff.
• Follows PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling policies.
• Performs blood specimen collection including phlebotomy for all age groups.
• Performs point of care testing and related quality control and reporting.
• Transports and processes patient specimens; handles hazardous waste per policy.
