Job summary

SGS in the United States is seeking a laboratory technician to prepare samples for analysis after training, using department-specific SOPs and basic instrumentation.

You will perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration, input and maintain technical information, and keep a Laboratory Notebook, while adhering to internal standards.

This entry-level role is suitable for candidates with 0–2 years in analytical chemistry; High School degree preferred. On-site position in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry laboratories or biological laboratory, or prior hands-on experience.
• High School Degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as required
