Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 to perform routine and non-routine lab tests, record data, and support documentation under supervision. You will assist in test setup, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance while developing basic HVAC knowledge and hands-on skills in electronics and systems used in testing environments.

This entry-level role targets candidates with a high school diploma, EPA 608 certification within 3 months, and 1+ year of technical training in HVAC;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; EPA 608 certification within 3 months or already held.
• 1+ year formal technical training in electronics or HVAC (air conditioning, refrigeration & heating).
• 0–3 years lab technician experience or equivalent education/experience.

Job description

The Laboratory Technician 1 is responsible for performing both routine and non-routine lab tests from written test requests as well as recording data for documentation. Conducts laboratory analyses, instrument maintenance and calibrations. Ensures work aligns with the business units' strategies including safety, quality, cost and on-time completion of work goals.

Position Responsibilities May Include

• Set-up and perform both routine and non-routine lab tests according to specifications.
• Prepare test unit/model for testing, making alterations as needed.
• Record data (manually or electronically) and assist in summarization of data for reports and filing.
• Perform minor maintenance on test rooms and equipment as assigned.
• Assist in cleanup of work area and equipment as assigned.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Nature & Scope

• Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
• Work is closely supervised.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of HVAC safety and governing standards preferred.
• Should have basic knowledge of HVAC System and its components.
• Good brazing skills required (in-house braze training required).
• Hands-on or mechanically inclined.
• Beginning level computer skills -Microsoft Office-Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience

• 0-3 years' experience lab technician experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education/Certification

• High School diploma or GED.
• EPA 608 certification required or obtain one within 3 months of start date.
• 1 + years of formal technical school training in electronics or air conditioning, refrigeration & heating
