Job summary

Daikin Comfort in Waller, Texas is looking for a Laboratory Technician 1. The successful candidate will perform routine and non-routine lab tests and ensure quality control while aligning with safety and cost goals. Candidates should have 0-3 years of lab experience, good mechanical skills, and basic HVAC knowledge. This role will require regular documentation and potentially minor maintenance on equipment. Training will be provided where needed, and strong attention to detail is critical.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience as a lab technician or equivalent education.
• Good mechanical inclination.
• Ability to follow established procedures under supervision.

Job description

The Laboratory Technician 1 is responsible for performing both routine and non‑routine lab tests from written test requests as well as recording data for documentation. Conducts laboratory analyses, instrument maintenance and calibrations. Ensures work aligns with the business units’ strategies including safety, quality, cost and on‑time completion of work goals.

Position Responsibilities

• Set‑up and perform both routine and non‑routine lab tests according to specifications.
• Prepare test unit/model for testing, making alterations as needed.
• Record data (manually or electronically) and assist in summarization of data for reports and filing.
• Perform minor maintenance on test rooms and equipment as assigned.
• Assist in cleanup of work area and equipment as assigned.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

• Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
• Work is closely supervised.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of HVAC safety and governing standards preferred.
• Should have basic knowledge of HVAC system and its components.
• Good brazing skills required (in‑house braze training required).
• Hands‑on or mechanically inclined.
• Beginning level computer skills – Microsoft Office – Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience

• 0‑3 years’ experience lab technician experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Daily use of computer.
