POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting quality assurance testing on all raw materials and finished goods as needed. Additionally, the QA Lab Technician provides support for operations, shipping and receiving, administration roles, HES, and management.
This is a salary non-exempt position and can be either 2nd or 3rd shift.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Must follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies, and Laws at all times.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace. Keeps equipment, counters, etc., clean.
- Participates in plant safety culture (attend/complete training, CARE observations, enter near misses when appropriate, etc.).
- Be able to lift 25 pounds safely.
- Safely handle industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel-toed boots, etc.
- Conducts Quality Assurance testing, records test data, performs calculations according to test methods, communicates and interprets data, and assumes responsibility for data accuracy and test equipment precision. Be efficient in all test methods.
- Prioritizes testing as needed with assistance from operations, shipping, or management.
- Performs equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Maintains laboratory supplies and organizes daily activities to achieve expected results.
- Develops and maintains lab projects focused on continuous improvement, including stability studies.
- Properly prepares and disposes of waste, universal waste, and non-conforming product in accordance with all regulatory, statutory, and company requirements.
- Uses SAP.
- Willing to provide training to new technicians as appropriate.
- Additional duties may include daily management of recertification process, catalog purchasing of lab supplies, raw material receipt in SAP with C.O.A. review, supporting annual review and procedure changes, daily SAP inventory review, process order record retention, receiver filing, and assisting supervisors in routine adjustments.
IN ORDER TO BE QUALIFIED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Safety conscious, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
- Minimum of one year of hands-on manufacturing experience; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Willing to work any shift and frequent overtime (12-hour shifts).
- Computer literate with good math skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
