Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a Laboratory Technician 2 to support test operations by managing inertial navigation labs, tracking equipment, calibrating tools, and assisting with test preparation for complex systems.

You will work closely with engineers to stage hardware, configure test setups, and provide hands-on support to ensure accurate data collection and efficient workflows. Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in an engineering lab, test environment, or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to follow written procedures, engineering instructions, and safety guidelines accurately.
• Basic understanding of hand tools, test equipment, and mechanical/electrical hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing equipment, documentation, and test setups.
• Ability to work in a lab or shop environment, including lifting and moving equipment as required.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and technicians.
• US Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active US Government Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and tracking test equipment assets, including inventory updates and documentation.
• Serve as a regular point of contact for routine engineering lab operations and readiness needs.
• Coordinate repair activities for malfunctioning or damaged test equipment, including preparing documentation and tracking status to closure.
• Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and repair of tools and test equipment with internal and external resources.
• Prepare test setups and program testing, including staging hardware and configuring fixtures, cables, and instrumentation.
• Maintain organized test areas, ensuring tools and equipment are stored, labeled, and handled per procedures.
• Communicate equipment status, calibration schedules, and issues to engineers and test leads in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with engineering, test, and program management to align lab capabilities with upcoming needs.
