Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician I in Richmond, VA to assist multiple projects within a multi-disciplinary team. You will receive environmental samples, perform data entry in LIMS, and help with sample labeling, storage, and field coordination.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred associate-level coursework; some lab experience is a plus. You will work Monday–Friday with possible overtime and must pass a drug screen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Proficient with computers and database software.
• Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively (oral & written).
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Well organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
• Label and store samples; inform departments of short holding times or rush requests.
• Assist in bottle preparation and sample management/archiving/disposal.
• Assist in sample pickup or field sampling when needed.
• Coordinate daily field sampling/pickup schedule and participate in focus teams.
