Job summary

Onterris is hiring a Laboratory Technician I for our Richmond, VA lab. You will assist multiple projects with interaction across multidisciplinary staff, regulatory agencies, and clients. The role offers a full-time schedule with initial training Mon-Fri 8hrs/day and rotating shifts on Sun–Wed.

Responsibilities include sample receipt, data entry into LIMS, bottle preparation, and shipment production. Candidates should meet education requirements and pass drug screening; KD, safety, and QA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Proficient with computers and database software.
• General lab practices and lab safety knowledge.
• Able to multitask and communicate effectively (oral and written).
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Well organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs.
• Performs data entry of sample and test information into LIMS.
• Label sample containers and manage storage locations.
• Inventory management and ordering as needed.
• Occasional driving for pickups.
• Support bottle preparation and shipments.
• Assist in sample bottle preparation and sample management/archiving.
• Assist in field sampling when needed.
• Participate in teams to improve efficiency.
• Comply with Onterris QA and Health & Safety plans.
