Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for our Richmond, VA lab. You will assist multiple projects, handle sample receiving, data entry into LIMS, and support bottle preparation and disposal. The role requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and adherence to QA and safety plans.

The position offers a full-time schedule (Sun–Wed, 10-hour shifts) with training to start on a Mon–Fri basis. Prior lab exposure is helpful, and lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass screen drug testing.
  • Proficient with computers and database software.
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions; attentive to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
  • Performs data entry of sample and test information into LIMS.
  • Label sample containers, store them properly, and notify departments of rush requests.
  • Completes inventory and orders inventory as needed.
  • Occasional driving for pickups.
  • Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments.
  • Assists in sample bottle preparation and disposal.
  • Supports sample pickup or field sampling when needed.
  • Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency.
  • Complies with QA and Health & Safety plans.

You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is **$19.00 to $20.00**, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. **Schedule: *full-time shift, Sun to Wed (initial training Mon-Fri 8hrs/day)***To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: * Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs* Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)* Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.* Completes inventory and order inventory as needed.* Occasional driving for pick ups* Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments.* Assists in sample bottle preparation* Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal* Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed* Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency* Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program* Comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan* Other duties as assigned**Your Expertise and Skills**These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.* High School Diploma or GED.
