Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician I in Richmond, VA to assist multiple projects within a multi-disciplinary team. You will receive environmental samples, perform data entry in LIMS, and help with sample labeling, storage, and field coordination.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with preferred associate-level coursework; some lab experience is a plus. You will work Monday–Friday with possible overtime and must pass a drug screen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Proficient with computers and database software.
• Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively (oral & written).
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Well organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
• Label and store samples; inform departments of short holding times or rush requests.
• Assist in bottle preparation and sample management/archiving/disposal.
• Assist in sample pickup or field sampling when needed.
• Coordinate daily field sampling/pickup schedule and participate in focus teams.

You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is **$18.00 to $20.00**, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. **Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional overtime.** To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: * Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs* Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)* Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.* Assists in sample bottle preparation* Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal* Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed* Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed* Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency* Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program and Health & Safety Plan* Other duties as assigned **Your Expertise and Skills**These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here. * High School Diploma or GED.
