Job summary

SGS in Brookings, SD is seeking a Lab Technician I. Under supervision, you will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS SOPs, contributing to meeting daily production targets while maintaining safety and clean work areas.

With adequate training, you will operate basic prep instrumentation, perform routine maintenance, document results in a Laboratory Notebook, and adhere to internal standards and procedures to support lab operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories preferred.

Responsibilities

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
