Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Laboratory Technician in the United States to deliver rapid, accurate lab results while following strict collection and processing procedures. You will maintain quality control records and assist with ordering supplies, under supervision, across centers as needed.

The role requires venipuncture and drug screen skills, the ability to work in high-volume environments, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma and lab knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent with knowledge of laboratory principles and methodologies sufficient to perform waived testing.
• Ability to produce rapid, reliable, quality laboratory results during high volume (100+ patients per day).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and take initiative in dynamic situations.
• Knowledge to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Proficient in venipuncture, finger stick collections, and drug screens.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods (4–7 hours).
• Must be able to lift moderately heavy to heavy items (20–50 pounds).
• Willingness to work at any center due to staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing quality and rapid lab results involving knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures.
• Following procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and record maintenance.
• Adhering to quality control policies and documenting QC activities under supervision.
• Electronically ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notifying Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and relaying lab/x-ray needs.
