About TPI

We are a leading wind-blade manufacturer and the only independent wind blade manufacturer with a global footprint. We manufacture advanced composite products to our customers’ exact specifications in facilities designed, built, and strategically located either near our customers’ target markets or in low-cost, world-class locations to minimize total delivered cost. In addition, we provide global field service maintenance and repairs for wind turbine OEMs and asset owners by leveraging our global footprint and approximately 12,000 capable associates.

About the Role

Our Materials Lab Technicians conduct tests and trials to verify and validate the quality characteristics of raw materials, product in process, finished product, and products under evaluation for potential use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and laboratory tests to determine the conformity of materials or products being evaluated.
  • Ensure that inspection results are timely and reliable.
  • Support product and/or raw material inspections according to the production needs of the area.
  • Take samples of raw materials to verify physicochemical characteristics according to inspection plans and/or applicable technical documents.
  • Identify, document, and report any non-conformity detected in the inspection of raw materials that negatively affects the manufacturing processes.
  • Strictly adhere to hygiene and safety regulations.

Who we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge in the application of statistical tools and AQL system.
  • Experience handling chemical substances.
  • Basic knowledge of measuring equipment, e.g., vernier scales, micrometers, manual scale, tape measure, etc.
  • Computer software experience, e.g., Oracle, PLM, Microsoft Office.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain an excellent attendance record.

Location

This position is on-site at our wind blade manufacturing site in Newton, Iowa. Local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available for this position.
