POSITION SUMMARY
Amphenol Network Solutions is seeking a Lab Technician to support our high-growth Optics business at the Morrisville, NC location. The role requires a high degree of attention to detail and organizational skills to manage lab materials and equipment, as well as to correctly prepare, execute, and collect data from optical tests. The Lab Technician will perform their duties with minimal supervision and guidance.

Associates degree in a technical field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education. 1-5 years of technical support in a development lab and/or test environment is required. Proven organizational skills and attention to detail are strongly preferred. Experience with fiber cleaving, inspection, splicing, and familiarity with fiber optic components and optical test equipment are desirable. Technical writing skills are a plus.
The Lab Technician will collaborate with optical engineers and should be comfortable with technical jargon. Clear and concise communication, asking questions to ensure understanding, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues in close quarters are essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email is required. Ability to learn new systems such as Epicor MRP, Teams, Engineering Tools, Dayforce, and Teamwork.
Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally. The role involves sitting and standing, extensive computer work, and moving boxes as needed.
Heated and air-conditioned lab/office environment. Travel is not anticipated. Close work with computers and physical handling of equipment and boxes is required.
