POSITION SUMMARY

Amphenol Network Solutions is seeking a Lab Technician to support our high-growth Optics business at the Morrisville, NC location. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and organizational skills to manage lab materials, equipment, and data collection from optical tests. The Lab Technician will work independently with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organize and set up optical passive product library and supplies.
• Support splicing and testing activities.
• Assist with customer technical requests and new sales opportunities.
• Support engineering/testing activities.
• Participate in quality, supplier, and new product release activities.
• Maintain organization of lab, display room, and storage areas.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in a technical field preferred; relevant experience may substitute. 1-5 years of technical support experience in a lab or testing environment. Proven organizational skills and attention to detail are highly valued. Experience with fiber cleaving, inspection, splicing, and familiarity with optical test equipment is preferred. Technical writing skills are a plus.

LANGUAGE AND PEOPLE SKILLS

The candidate will collaborate with optical engineers and should be comfortable with technical jargon. Clear, concise communication and teamwork in close quarters are essential.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email. Ability to learn new systems such as Epicor MRP, Teams, and other engineering tools.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally. Tasks involve sitting, standing, computer work, and moving boxes as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Heated and air-conditioned lab/office. Travel is not expected. Close computer work and physical handling of equipment are required.
