Covia is looking for a dynamic Lab Technician who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Fort Smith, AR location. The Lab Technician assists in administering Covia's Quality program in accordance with corporate QC standards. This position works on rotating shifts-days, nights, weekends, and holidays and is a Safety Sensitive Position/Job.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

• Obtaining and preparing product samples for analysis and storage


• Conducting various tests according to established laboratory procedures


• Utilizing various computer applications to compile, record and report test results


• Performing calibrations of laboratory equipment


• Performing cleaning of laboratory equipment


• Performing general housekeeping within the laboratory


• Follow Covia and MSHA safety standards at all times


• Participate in safety meetings


• Additional duties as assigned

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required


• 1+ years of relevant experience is required or a 2-year degree in a related field


• MSHA experienced preferred or OSHA experience accepted


• Strong presentation and leadership skills
