Job Title: Lab Technician (Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician) - Molecular - Direct Hire

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician (must have your ASCP, AMT or AAB) to join our high-complexity, CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory. You will play a key role in transforming prostate cancer detection through cutting-edge biomarker-based testing. This role involves running multiple molecular tests such as Q PCR, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines, and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Run molecular test, including RNA extraction, reverse transcription, and qPCR.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with CLIA/CAP guidelines.
• Handle specimens and operate lab instruments.
• Document all procedures, results, deviations, and quality control activities in accordance with lab SOPs.
• Troubleshoot issues and support process improvements.
• Perform other duties as directed.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in biology, medical lab science, or related field.
• Active certification: MLT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MLT(AMT), MT(AMT), or MT(AAB).
• At least 1 year of experience in a high-complexity CLIA lab.
• Hands-on experience with qPCR and nucleic acid extraction.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with molecular diagnostics or LDT workflows.
• Familiarity with LIMS and qPCR data software (e.g., QuantStudio, CFX Manager).
• Background in automation or high-throughput testing.
  
  

Work Environment

You will work on-site in a nice, clean lab environment that was newly built in 2024. The lab is located in Ann Arbor, MI, and operates from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. You will collaborate with two other technicians and one Accessioner, handling a sample volume of 40-50 per day. This is a Direct Hire opportunity due to growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
