Job Title: Heat Treat Lab Technician
Job Location: MNP, Utica, Michigan
Job Schedule:
Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat
Week 2 - Sun, Wed & Thurs
Week 1 & 2 both on Swing shift - 12 hours 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
rotating weekly schedule

About the role of a Heat Treat Lab Technician:
The Heat Treat Lab Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet stringent quality and safety standards. Their responsibilities encompass a range of tasks that are vital to maintaining product integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities of a Heat Treat Lab Technician:
Conduct metallurgical analysis of samples including core hardness, surface
hardness, and micro-Vickers testing
Evaluate samples for carbon pickup & de-carb, and structure review for
Tempered martensite
Accurately record test results and maintain detailed laboratory records
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety
Protocols
Work closely with production and engineering to address quality issues and
implement improvements
Regularly assess furnace operation trends to ensure consistent quality
Analyze furnace data logs to detect any anomalies or deviations to maintain
quality control and standardized operations
Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of a Heat Treat Lab Technician:
Experience in cold forming and thread rolling
Blueprint reading & GD&T interpretation / measurement
Familiar with fastener quality requirements, strength classifications, thread classifications
Knowledge of carbon-based steels (1010-5039)
Intermediate computer skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
