Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Des Moines, IA, seeks a Laboratory Technician to support microbiology testing and sample processing. You will register samples, prepare specimens, and perform analyses with accuracy using the eLIMS system.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility for overtime as needed. Ideal candidates hold a HS Diploma and AS/BS in a related field, with plating and sample prep experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• Experience with plating, plate reading, and sample preparation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
• Reads and follows management system requirements including ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC.
• Register incoming samples and maintain orderly records for QC tests.
• Enter sample data into the eLIMS system accurately and timely.
• Complete laboratory testing on incoming samples and meet turnaround goals.
• Verify results and report to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Identify process issues and propose solutions to supervisor.
