Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Des Moines, IA, is hiring a Sample Preparation Technician I on the 2nd shift (4pm-12:30am) or (12pm-8:30pm) Tue-Sat or Mon-Wed, Fri & Sat. Responsibilities include following Quality System documents, preparing samples, weighing, analyzing with approved methods, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to stay organized and detail-oriented in a lab environment.
• Good analytical skills with accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience; associate degree or high school diploma accepted.

Responsibilities

• Follow Quality System documents (Quality Manual, SOPs) and comply with ISO/IEC 17025, cGMP, GLP.
• Set up batches of samples to weigh and weigh samples; prepare for analysis.
• Perform timely and accurate analysis using approved methods and data reduction.
• Maintain neat records and log test data in logbooks or ELIMS; ensure traceability.
• Identify when rechecks are needed and report findings to supervisor.
• Maintain clean glassware and prepare solutions for daily testing.
• Communicate results and issues with team members and Department Leader.
• Promote safe work practices and protect proprietary methodologies.
