Job summary

Bon Secours in Richmond is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for Richmond Health Source Shared Services. The role includes registering and accessioning orders, collecting specimens, and assisting with pre-analytical and analytical procedures.

Phlebotomy and specimen collection will be performed to ensure proper processing. Essential duties include greeting patients, collecting blood, supporting technologists with instruments and reagents, and handling inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Travel to off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community in a respectful manner.
• Collect blood specimens following venipuncture procedures.
• Support technologists with instruments, reagents and sample handling.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and inform appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory and communication tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
