Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for the Lima Medical Office Building, 750 W High. You will prepare specimens, register and accession orders, verify specimen quality, and perform pre-analytical and analytical steps, including phlebotomy, to ensure proper processing of samples.

Responsibilities include inventory maintenance, stocking, waived testing, and slide preparation, with travel to off-site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and transport to lab.
• Assist technologists with instrument setup, reagents, and maintenance.
• Identify instrument malfunctions and report issues promptly.
• Perform clerical duties like inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot problems to ensure smooth lab operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
