Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for the Core Laboratory at Lima Medical Office Building 750 W High. The role handles specimen processing, phlebotomy, pre-analytical tasks, and supports technologists in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Requires a High School diploma or GED; an Associate degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred. Relevant lab experience or data entry skills are a plus. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Keyboarding or data experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community in a respectful manner.
• Collect blood specimens following venipuncture procedures.
• Assist technologists with loading and maintaining instruments; prepare reagents and blood products as needed.
• Troubleshoot instrument and equipment issues and communicate with appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
