Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a phlebotomist to join our blood collection team. You will perform sample processing, venipunctures, and coordinate specimen preparation in line with Piedmont policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; no experience is required, though 1 year in phlebotomy and basic EKG experience are preferred. Certification in phlebotomy is also preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
